FWIW.... Seriously, aside from say, err.. Colin Trulock and the freshman gang that's putting up #'s (Beckfeld, Fish, Stendahl), Marcus Paulson, and a few others... It seems to me that Chris Gehrke has slowly but surely made his way into one of the top 3 defensemen on this Pointers team... No one knew a lot about him coming in, but... now it seems he's gotten himself into quite the player..and while he still has quite a few PIMS, I don't know that anyone on an opposing team really wants anything to do with him.. Forwards DREAD skating at him.. If he sticks around for his senior year...he should be pretty potent, especially with Trulock around... Gehrke was all conference last season. Honorable mention, iirc. FWIW, he was the highest recognized Pointer dman.

Understand there are a few disciplinary issues with Trulock. Coaches didn't have him practice with the team this past week, so he didn't dress for the weekend. Not sure if this is a permanant situation or not. He wasn't around for any of the team activities this weekend with the parents either.

Too bad, as I've always liked the way he played out on the ice. Granted however, there is more to any team than just what happens on the ice...

THAT SUCKS! hopefully it is something that can be remedied...I'd hate to hear he did something extremely stupid & either has been suspended or booted off the team...

I got this off of the Maddox website... www3.state.id.us/oasis/HCR029.htmlI can't believe this is real. What a waste of taxpayer money. Edit: The more I read it, the more it seems fake. Yet websites, like answer.com, show it to be real.

Doesn't look like he suited up against Eau Claire, either...

...I find it funny that this year, for the most part, NCHA posters on USCHO are quite civil. While the MIAC and numerous Eastern Conferences are verbally smacking eachother down. I credit this to the fact that the homerness or lack there of of NCHA posters is pretty minimal, plus with everything being pretty equal no one has a supremist attitude. Also the fact that only Point, UWS and SNC are represented, there seems to be respect all around, plus UWS fans are more pissed off at there coach than other teams right now.
This was a lot of rambling so some may not make sense.
Oh and Detlefsen > Smeleroff.

Another point Andy...many of the SNC -- Pointer guys/gals that contribute on the College Online Forum know each other personally...After you get to put a face with the name, you understand that we each can cheer/promote our favorite team and still be above board with our comments. Your right about the MIACers this season...much more bashing going on... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all....

I'd like to see them against some other olympic women's teams. If the high schoolers keep it close or win consistatly then I'd wouldn't worry, but if they loose....

So I listened to the first period of the UWS/U18-USNDT game Friday night and noticed that every time UWS scored, the fans(students or what I don't know?) did the Ole' cheer. the soccer one.
So, if that catches on in Hockey, do we have some stake in starting that because we did it 3 seasons ago? Do any other Hockey fans do that?
