From XRC's post on USCHO ...
Coming to you live from Stingray's Bar in Minocqua, WI, we have a confirmed final from he USA Hockey Adult Pond Hockey Championships sponsored by Labatt Blue:
Purple Haze (Saginaw, MI) 12 Rowdy Crowd (Stevens Point, WI) 6
Not the worst showing from the RC against a very solid team considering no players in our division could have played organized hockey past 8th grade. Scoring for the RC were Eves (2), Mario, Caveman-RC, Wormser-PointRC and XYZ.
As always, XYZ looked brilliant.
Up next for the RC is "Team Conquest" from who knows where.
Now, time to drink. ~xyz

what place did u guys get?? Only the top 4 from group stage advanced to the next round, and we went 0-3 so we didn't advance. We were competitive at least, which is more than some of us expected, so it was definitely worth doing. Gives us some incentive to work hard for the next year, hopefully get some better results, and have a hell of a lot of fun either way.

XRC,
Eves doesn't use his e-mail so you won't be able to get his pics via that medium. He handed me a CD with pics from the RC game, so I am assuming that's the way you'll have to get them.

Do any of you guys get HDNet as part of your cable package? They are showing the pond hockey tournament tomorrow and I'm looking for someone who has it to tape it for me. So far, I haven't had any luck...

I'm recording the program to DVD right now. All they seem to have are championship games. I didn't see any clips from friday or saturday. All of it seems to come from sunday. None the less it's pretty cool that we were there in the tourny.
On a sad note, Team Saturday Night Hockey, which won the bronze divison, lost thier teammate the night before they left. They were going to take thier trophy to the funneral this past tuesday.

Seems like team Rowdy Crowd is really drawing major media interest. A poster on USCHO noticed my post in the Cafe saying I played in it and she works for USA Hockey Magazine, so she will be calling me about it as that's what her article is about. Neato
Maybe I should be surprised about this, but then again, we are the Rowdy Crowd - everyone wants a piece.
We are awesome.
